If my memory serves me correctly I saw Star Wars at the Roxy Theatre just before it burned down. I also recalled that it was a chicken place connected to the theatre that had a grease fire, burning both establishments down. Very vague memories as I was only seven years old at the time. For some reason I remembered the chicken place as being a take-out joint right in front of the theatre. It might have been a take-out joint, but after finding some photos on the internet, I don't think it was in front of the theatre, but rather just north of the theatre. Thanks for your comment!

In the 60's there was a convenience store "Lorrie's Confectionery", there was also a barber shop, beauty salon, dry cleaner (closest to Safeway), which was also the post office if I recall correctly. Ta Bi-Rite Drugs was at the north end which then became White Cross Drugs. The "wing" on the north end of the mall was not there - that was an addition I'm guessing in late 70's early 80's.

Just moved in...And everything you said is true. How can the govt of Sask allow a shady landlord like 3G get away with it???

Can anyone name any of the previous tenants and time frame? I recall a Safeway, TD Bank and a Texaco gas station, but they closed soon after the new Southland Mall opened. Was he MACs convenience store always a MACs? The restaurant, Tumblers/Western Pizza, is still there. 2016/12

You might be able 2, not sure though don't see any harm. It is electric and as long as it doesn't harm track surface.

The correct location is just south of the buildings on the east side of the road. Zoom in and you will see a rickety fence that surrounds the small cemetery
